Description, duties, responsibilities
The DOM is responsible for facility P&L and oversees all aspects of the maintenance facility. The incumbent plans, directs, and coordinates activities of the maintenance facility for the repair and overhaul of aircraft, engines and components. He or she will also maintain inspection standards, methods and procedures used by the repair station in complying with all applicable manufacturers specifications, recommendations and FARs. The incumbent will act as a liaison between the repair station, customers, FAA and other government agencies.
Develop strategies to ensure MRO operations meet the companys growth requirements and assist with business strategy to help drive future growth of the company
Provide expert leadership to all phases of operations airframe, avionics, engines, components, repair services and facilities by taking actions that are consistent with the companys overall strategy
Mentor and develop leadership capabilities for the team
Assist in setting performance goals for the team
Monitor performance against goals to ensure productive execution of strategies, SOPs and tasks
Drive process improvements to optimize productivity and efficiency by collaborating on policy deployment in the areas of Lean Manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, cycle time, on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls and performance measures
Ensure compliance with company related policies, procedures, and SOPs while driving high quality standards
Confer with Director of Operations to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions
Confer with Director of Operations on strategic business development and key corporate planning issues that impact the operations of the company
Planning: Responsible for using Lean techniques to assist locations in planning for shop labor and work backlog. This also includes individual job planning to ensure project schedules are met (aircraft are delivered On Time and on budget)
Budget: Participate in annual budget preparation including a plan for capital expenditures
Training: Assist in the development of an annual training plan for the site and send employees to formal aircraft training to support FAR145 requirements
Facilities and Equipment: Responsible for advising locations on Lean techniques to sustain company facilities and equipment at the highest level of organization, cleanliness and repair
Remain aware of competitive environment in immediate and surrounding geographic area
Promote Signature Technicair Status and other promotions designed to generate additional maintenance backlog (volume)
Coordinate with other Signature leaders to improve service deliverables in an effort to increase customer loyalty
Establish a culture that promotes safety through shift briefings, routine audits, use of SHEBBA, monthly safety meetings, training and documented safety procedures
Formulate procedures for use in event of aircraft accidents, fires or other emergencies
Achieve annual RIR goal for site
Establish a culture that promotes customer loyalty by creating an environment of increased employee engagement
Ensure proper staffing levels are maintained based on scheduled backlog, sales pipeline and budget compliance
Confer with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in area
Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws for which incumbent is responsible
Responsible for succession planning which includes identifying strong performers and taking an active role in his or her development, as well as addressing those who under-perform

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The following functions may be performed in variable weather and environmental conditions such as jet engine fumes, dust or jet engine noise. Must have ability to:
Regularly walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to handle or feel objects and reach with hands and arms.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Read, write and fluently speak and understand the English language.
Read and interpret safety rules, installation, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures.
Write defect and repair statements.
Perform simple math calculations and apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.
Report to work in a regular and timely manner.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Bachelors Degree from a four-year college or university preferred
A&P License preferred
Minimum of 15 years aircraft repair experience
Minimum of 7 years aircraft maintenance management experience

Must possess a valid drivers license
Must possess strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

Proficient with personal computers and Microsoft office products
