ViaSat is looking for an experienced engineer to join our growing Quality group. In this key Corporate Quality role you will lead the Mission Assurance effort for a Satellite Payload program. You will work with other Mission Assurance engineers on the program and coordinate their efforts. You will support the program during all aspects of hardware design development and deployment. Your excellent communication skills will allow you to work cross functionally with Engineering and Manufacturing and Contract Manufactures to resolve problems down to their root cause. You will chair the FRACAS for the program and report to the team the state of all failures incurred during fabrication integration and testing. You will support all program development meetings PMR TIM PDR CDR MRR and TRRs as needed. In this exciting and dynamic role you will have the opportunity to work with and travel to suppliers fabricating program hardware as warranted. Travel time will be up to 25% of the time.
+ 10+ years of experience working with space flight hardware (experience in working with AFRL NASA GSFC and NASA JPL is a plus).
+ Familiarity with all aspects of implementing and executing a Mission Assurance plan for a space program including familiarity with GSFC 320-MAR-1001B or Aerospace TOR 2011(8591)-21 for developing and deploying a mission assurance plan is required.
+ Experience performing all aspects of failure investigations and FRACAS.
+ Working knowledge of MIL-HDBK-2155.
+ Working knowledge of all aspects of parts engineering including a working knowledge of GSFC EEE-INST-002 JPL D23084 MIL-PRF-38534 MIL-PRF-38535 and other part pertinent specifications.
+ Working knowledge of Contamination Control including a working knowledge of ISO-14644 or FED-STD-209 as well as a knowledge of IEST-STD-1246CC for contamination determination and how to keep space flight hardware clean.
+ Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or other relevant technical degree.
+ U.S. Government Position. U.S. Citizenship Required.
+ Ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance to work classified programs.
+ Up to 25% domestic and international travel.
+ Experience in working with AFRL NASA GSFC and NASA JPL
+ Masters degree in Engineering or MBA desirable.
+ Recent or active security clearance
