As an Operations Program Manager (OPM) at Viasat you are a key leader of integrated production program teams and will provide a single-point of accountability to the Business Area Program Managers to ensure timely delivery of products to customers. By providing day-to-day direction to a cross functional team including representatives from New Product Introduction (NPI) manufacturing quality assurance production planning test engineering and purchasing you will manage all aspects of production program requirements. You will work closely with the NPI engineers to ensure production readiness and that key risk mitigation factors for ViaSat are identified and addressed. Using your expertise in Operations you will translate product line forecasts into a Build Plan and plan/manage Manufacturing labor forecasting to Program in both the defense and commercial arenas.
Requirements
+ 10+ years of experience in hardware centric new product introduction or operations centric program/project management preferably in programs utilizing outsource manufacturing strategies.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects from new product development through fulfillment of mature products and drive optimization of test through test engineering.
+ Proven track record of project management team leadership problem solving risk mitigation and budget adherence for multiple programs
+ Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead through influence across all levels within ViaSat
+ Strong PC literacy with competency in complex data analysis project management and product collaboration.
+ Ability to complete tactical program deliverables while maintaining focus on strategic priorities
+ Bachelors of Science/Bachelors of Arts degree in a technical discipline (hardware oriented EE ME or IE)
+ US government position. US citizenship required.
+ Up to 25% domestic and international travel
Preferences
+ ERP software tools with strong preference for Oracle experience.
+ MBA or MS in technical discipline.
+ CPIM or PMP certification
+ Six Sigma Green Belt with DFM experience

The ViaSat Atlanta facility is located in the northeastern suburb of Duluth. Having recently relocated to a new purpose-built campus this office supports the dramatically growing Antenna Systems Group with engineering program management business development manufacturing and product support. This convenient location allows easy access to downtown Atlanta as well as the mountains and parks of north Georgia. Well known as a delightful place to live and work this area presents all the sports cultural and entertainment advantages of the city of Atlanta as well as the recreational attractions of North Georgia.
