Viasat UK is about to start a period of change and growth. Cyber and IA will be a key part of that initiative and the role of the Programme Director is likely to develop and change during 2018.
Scope/Purpose of Role
Reporting to the Viasat UK General Manager the IA/Cyber Programme Director is accountable for leading the IA programmes and for growing the companys Cyber Capability. The Programme Director will be a Key member of the Viasat UK Senior Leadership team.
The purpose of this role is:
+ Leadership of Viasat UKs Cyber and Information Assurance Programmes
+ Creation and execution of a strategic plan to deliver security solutions in association with the UK Space and Communications business that pull through Viasats UK and US offerings
+ Helping to grow the UK business both in terms of revenue and profit and the strength of its capabilities
+ Creation of a Centre of Excellence in Cyber and IA which provides unique and innovative capabilities to the wider Viasat group
+ Supporting the development of a culture of customer intimacy with the Cyber community identifying opportunities for Viasat to disrupt the market
Main Responsibilities/Key Tasks:
+ Leadership and development of the Cyber team
+ Agree and deliver a challenging and increasing growth for IA and Cyber with comprehensive and clear goals for performance and growth
+ Creation of a growth focused strategic plan for Cyber and IA and for the wider UK business through the development of fully integrated and secure communications solutions to disrupt the market
+ Create and maintain key stakeholder relationships to further business objectives
+ Support the Viasat UK networks teams with cyber advice and solutions
+ Create and build customer relationships to develop intimacy
+ Operate constructively across ViaSat to cross-sell the groups capabilities re-use core IP and increase Viasat UKs credibility and position within the group
+ Increase Viasat UKs order book by developing adjacent markets and technologies and raising Viasat UKs credibility within the customer community
+ Actively extend business opportunities into the non-Government and non-UK/US markets
+ Work creatively as part of the Viasat UK Leadership team steering the business strategic direction and day-to-day operation
+ Design and implement the business strategies plans and procedures needed to deliver the strategic plan and budget
+ Oversee daily operations in IA and Cyber working with executives from across Viasat (IT Marketing Sales Finance etc.)
+ Support growth generating activities by identifying investments acquisitions corporate alliances etc
+ Work constructively with other teams such as marketing to develop plans to launch new products
+ Develop and communicate the IA/Cyber vision to the team in support of the companys corporate vision and goals
+ Deliver tangible improvements to internal functions in order to increase business efficiency and resilience
+ Prepare business and programme performance reports for the UK MD and US Business Unit leads
+ Evaluate business performance by analysing and interpreting data and metrics
+ Monitor and review project activities ensuring that they are brought to completion within budget and schedule
+ Establish policies that promote the companys culture and vision
+ Create a high-performing innovative and agile team that attracts and retains top-quartile talent
+ Create a harmonious working environment for the team
+ Work with the People Culture team to develop train and mentor staff motivating them for effective performance
In addition from time to time you will be asked undertake other tasks and responsibilities not covered above in order to achieve project or corporate objectives.
Requirements
+ Degree-qualified or equivalent experience preferably in a technical discipline
+ Proven track record of success in senior leadership roles with obvious potential to grow to larger roles
+ Outstanding organisational and leadership abilities - a confident driven and dynamic leader
+ Excellent people management and development skills
+ Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
+ Excellent communicator at all levels of the business
+ Understanding of business functions such as HR finance marketing etc.
+ Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development
+ Entrepreneurial mind-set with the ability to spot original opportunities
+ Proven track record of delivering complex programmes to budget and schedule
+ Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
+ Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure and MS Office
+ Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving

Preferences
You will be home-based or work at our office at the Royal Pavilion Aldershot and the role will routinely require European travel. Your salary will be highly competitive and include benefits including healthcare pension life assurance and generous holiday entitlement.
